Linda Sánchez- Pintor was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico in 1970. Obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with a concentration in Sculpture from the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico, San Juan in 1994. In May 2013 obtained a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts with a Specialty in Sculpture at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus. She also initiated a Master’s in Arts with a Specialty in Puerto Rican Studies at the Advanced Studies Center of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, San Juan.


In 1994 and 1996 collaborated as an assistant to sculptors Carmen Inés Blondet, Leopoldo Maler, and Soucy de Pellerano at the 1st and 2nd Sculpture Symposium of the Botanical Garden of the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras. In 2010 and 2014 Sánchez- Pintor collaborated as the Curriculum Workshop Coordinator at the 1stand 2ndIntercultural Exchange De Aquí Pá ‘Ya, a community development project between Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. In 2010 collaborated with artist Dhara Rivera Vázquez in Cosiendo Aguas the Anchorage Manufacturing Director and with artist Jaime Crespo in Transformación de lo Íntimo in 2015.


Sánchez- Pintor was invited to participate in the celebration of the exhibition Haiti 500 Years of History, organized by Jean Marie Drot in association with the Organization Afrique en Creations and the Agency of La Francophonie of the Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1996. She has participated as a Resident Sculptor at the School of Design of the Altos de Chavón Cultural Center Foundation, Dominican Republic, 1998. In 2003 was guest speaker to lecture about aesthetics values and writing in fine arts at the 7th Latin American Congress of College Board in Puebla, México.


She was awarded the Chancellor's Medal of the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina Campus, 2008, at the same time selected to develop a work for the Plaza de los Artistas in the Autonomous Municipality of Guaynabo, under the curatorship of Dr. Carmen Teresa Ruiz de Fischler, 2008.  In 2015 was a participant in the inauguration of the public art project at the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina Campus. During 2015 and 2016 she engaged in several projects for the Autonomous Municipalities of Carolina and Bayamón.


Linda Sánchez- Pintor is currently studying a doctorate degree in Philosophy and Letters with a Specialty in History of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean in the Study Center Advanced of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Sánchez- Pintor holds the position of Director of the Department of Sculpture of the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico, institution in which has been a faculty member since 2001.


Her sculptural work includes public art and private collections. Metal predominates as her preferred medium for her pieces.
